You live far away, your parent lives in or around Châteauroux: I'm your local link
You live in Paris, London, Lyon or further afield, and your mum or dad lives in or around Châteauroux. I'm right there, close to their home. I visit them, help them book their appointments, go with them when they need it, and tell you, simply and honestly, how they are doing.
1What's missing when you live far away
On the phone, they always say “I'm fine, don't worry”. Neighbours help out and the home help does their job, but nobody really has the time to look at the whole picture, or to tell you about it.
What's missing is someone you can trust, on the spot: a person who knows the situation, sees what is going on and keeps you informed. That is exactly my role.
2What I do for your parent, on the spot
- I visit them at home, at a pace that suits you both.
- I help them book their appointments: GP, specialist, dentist, tests. We write them down together so they don't forget, and I pass them on to you.
- I go with them to medical appointments: I ask the right questions and take notes.
- I'm there at the hospital, clinic or care home when they need it.
- I help with post and paperwork: health insurance, care allowances, files to prepare or chase up.
- I liaise with the people around them: GP, nurses, home helps.
3What you receive
- A clear report after every visit, by email or text: how they are, what we did together, what needs your attention.
- An immediate alert if something worries me.
- A single point of contact who knows your parent and their situation.
- A phone catch-up whenever you need it.
4Someone you can count on
Letting someone into your parent's home takes trust. My framework is written down in black and white:
- Nothing happens without your parent's consent, and I never decide for them.
- A code of ethics and clear terms of service: you know what I do and what it costs before we start.
- Confidentiality for everything I see and hear.
- If your parent wishes, I can be formally designated as their trusted person under French law (Article L1111-6 of the Public Health Code).
I'm not a doctor and I don't replace the emergency services. In an emergency, the first call is still 15 or 112. I take over afterwards and keep you informed.

Frequently asked questions
My parent doesn't want to be “watched”. How does it work?
I don't come to watch, I come to visit. I introduce myself, we get to know each other, and we go at their pace. Nothing happens without their consent, and they decide what is shared with you.
Can you drive them to their appointments?
Transport is not part of my role, which focuses on human and administrative support. We organise the journey together, and I meet them there to be by their side during the appointment.
Do you work outside Châteauroux?
Yes, in the Indre and the Centre-Val de Loire region, with travel costs based on distance.
What if I live abroad?
It's exactly the same support: you receive the reports in writing and we catch up at a time that suits you, whatever your time zone.
