of the trusted companion

Florian Lallier commits to placing the person supported at the centre of every decision. He fully respects their choices, values and beliefs, even when they differ from his own convictions. His role is to accompany, not to decide on the person's behalf.

All information brought to his knowledge in the course of his role, medical, family, personal or financial, is strictly confidential. He shall not disclose it to unauthorised third parties, including the family members of the person supported, unless expressly instructed to do so by that person.

• No information will be shared without prior written consent.
• Documents entrusted to him are kept in a secure location and returned on request.
• Confidentiality is maintained after the role has ended.

Florian Lallier carries out his role without bias, judgement or undue influence. He takes care not to impose his personal opinions in his interactions with the person supported, their loved ones, or the relevant medical, family or institutional teams.

He commits to immediately reporting any situation that could constitute a conflict of interest (family, professional or financial ties) with the person supported or their circle, and to withdrawing from the role if this conflict cannot be resolved satisfactorily.

Florian Lallier acts with honesty and transparency towards the person supported and their loved ones. He refuses any material advantage, gift, bequest or gratuity connected with carrying out his role, beyond the agreed and transparent fee.

The trusted companion is neither a legal guardian, an agent, nor a medical decision-maker. Florian Lallier commits to acting strictly within the framework defined by law (Art. L1111-6 CSP) and by the written designation, and to directing the person towards qualified professionals when the situation goes beyond his remit.

He commits to being available, responsive and present at important moments, within the limits agreed with the person supported. In the event of an exceptional impediment, he undertakes to inform the person and to facilitate a continuity solution.

Florian Lallier commits to maintaining and developing his skills in medico-social support, medical ethics and patient rights, through regular training and by keeping abreast of legislative and practical developments in his role.

The role ends at any time at the written request of the person supported, without them having to justify it. Florian Lallier commits to returning all documents and information entrusted to him as promptly as possible and to respecting a transition period if the person wishes.
